Alberta College of Massage Therapy (ACMT) is part of the Health and Wellness Colleges of Canada (HWCC) and was founded in 2001. ACMT is a Private Career College licensed through the Province of Alberta’s Innovation and Advanced Education Program.. Upon completion of both the Spa Massage Practitioner and the Massage Therapy programs, graduates can practice as Registered Massage Therapists.

Inspired, Flexible Learning
Alberta College of Massage Therapy offers an inspired, flexible program that lets you train for a career as a Registered Massage Therapist without putting your life on hold.
This progressive learning approach combines home study, in-class tutorials, and clinic practical time. Students study from home using ACMT’s online Learning Management System, and ACMT instructors are always available through email to answer any questions. In-class sessions focus on hands-on learning.
Training Massage Therapists since 2001
Since 2001, Alberta College of Massage Therapy has been an industry leader in massage therapy education across Canada. Programs are offered at 7 campuses in Calgary, Edmonton – Southside, Edmonton – Downtown, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lloydminster, and Red Deer!

18 Month Program
First Year – Spa Massage Practitioner Certificate:
Students learn the basics of relaxation massage and a variety of Swedish Massage techniques. Students are introduced to anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and hydrotherapy. After the fourth module, students practice on real clients in our student clinics. Graduates of the Spa Massage Practitioner program receive a certificate and can work in spas or on cruise ships.
Second Year – Massage Therapy Diploma:
Students learn deep tissue massage, fascia release, facilitated exercises, history taking, orthopaedic assessments and treatment of pathologies of the entire muscular-skeletal system. Students practice in ACMT’s Student Clinic throughout the program. Graduates become Registered Massage Therapists upon joining an association.
Direct Entry: Students who already have training from another institution may be eligible for direct entry into the second year program. Contact us to learn more.
